Our Old House - Part 3
59 Puddingstone Way
These photos were taken on January 10, 2009 with my cell phone camera. I still take crappy pictures on any camera, so it wouldn't matter if I had my good camera or not. I was on my way home from the canceled rabies clinic ... too much snow .... HA!

I think this is a picture shooting in our old bedroom toward what was the master bathroom. The main bathroom on the left was widened and the master bathroom was eliminated.

Shooting down the hallway from the steps toward the new addition over the garage. Rebecca's bedroom is on the right and our bedroom is on the left. I can't tell what happened to Matthew's bedroom, but it looks like it was combined into Rebecca's bedroom and a closet built on the wall separating the old bedrooms from the new one.

This is the new room over the front of the garage. The two windows are in a small bump out.

This is the new room over the back of the garage.

This is the back corner of our bedroom. The window on the short wall has been moved over to the back wall. The room on the right in back is over the garage, that's why it's shorter.

Looking in the main bathroom. The window that is closed in was in the master bathroom, so the main bathroom was widened. After all that money I spent to put in new windows in both bathrooms. Well they still have a lifetime warranty on them. Short lifetime.

Really, really dark shot of the basement. The window at the top was in the office/workshop area and had been boarded over. I had thought about re-opening the window, but liked the extra wall space it gave me inside. The white spot on the bottom is a wet spot on the floor. A new floor from the quick glance I got of it, but looks like they didn't stop all the water leakage. The two interior walls of my office are gone, along with the floor. I spent a lot of time spackeling those walls, laying the sub floor and installing the flooring. That is the one thing that upsets me in this whole thing. The work I did do in the house is all gone. I miss my office and workshop.

Just after I took this picture, I heard a car pull into the driveway, so I quickly put away my phone. When I went back out the garage, the new owner was getting out of his car and two construction guys pulled up in a work van. I talked to the guy for a little while, he seems like a nice guy. I want to go back with my new camera and take some really better pictures ... well maybe I need someone else to take the pictures.

One of the things I'll miss about our old house is the wild life we used to get in our backyard. Here is a herd of deer we had from time to time. One of the doe's actually gave birth to a fawn in the backyard. After only a few hours, the fawn disappeared into the trees. Look closely, there are at least 8 deer in this photo.

One of the things I won't miss about our old house is the wild life we used to get in our backyard. Here is a photo of the nice black bear that came to visit one day. We called animal control and they told us to just leave it alone. Yeah, like I was gonna go play cards or something with him. This photo is taken just left of the deer photo, the same big tree.

We used to decorate every year for Christmas. I would try to add something new each year. We had lights along the porch and around the garage. We had the white animated deer in the yard. We had 7 or 8 deer and Santa's sleigh. We didn't have Santa, but we had a lightup Snoopy Santa that we would put in the sleigh. We would add deer as new ones came out. I could never get Rudolph's nose to shine bright red. I kept changing bulbs but couldn't get what I was looking for. Unfortunately, we didn't think enough to take any pictures of the finished product. We also used to move the cars out of the garage at Halloween and Rebecca and I would decorate the garage. We had smoke machines, mechanical hands, flying bats, strobe lights and all kinds of spooky things. Rebecca would dress up and we had fun scaring the little ones that came for trick-or-treat. Again, we didn't think to take any photographs .... I wish we had.
Living in a condo prevents us from doing any of the above. We cannot hang Christmas lights to the outside of our unit. We can't put the deer in the yard. We put Snoopy Santa on the porch, but it isn't the same. We have all the deer in storage and all the Halloween equipment also in storage. It's planned on using them when we get a new house, but who knows when that will happen. I think we'll get rid of the deer, they are taking up room in the container and are getting broken.
